Elizabeth Robaina of McAllen, Texas was crowned Miss Latina US 2010 on May
29th. The 21-year-old senior at the University of Texas Pan-American represented
her Cuban heritage at the National Pageant held in Barcelo Punta Cana.
Born in Havana, Cuba, this petite brunette has resided in the state of Texas since
2005 and in the US since 1994. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and is
currently majoring in Commercial Broadcasting, graduating with a B.A. in
December. She is also the weather girl at the Univision TV affiliate in McAllen.
Excelling academically with a 3.8 G.P.A., Elizabeth has received many distinctions
and awards, among these All American Scholar, Golden Key Honor Society, Dean’
s list all four years at the University of Texas Pan-American and TIPA 2nd place for
best feature story 2010.
A competitor and high achiever, she has won several beauty competitions prior to
becoming Miss Latina US 2010. She also did honor to her title by placing 4th
Runner-Up at the world finals in representation of the USA and also receiving the
Queen of North America and the Caribbean Award for academic excellence and
outstanding life achievements. Indeed, another exemplary role model like her
predecessors.
