Diana Franca of Salt Lake City, Utah was crowned Miss Latina US 2009. The
19-year-old sophomore at the University of Utah is the first woman of Brazilian
heritage to win this title in the history of this national pageant.
Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, this 5’ 8” blonde has resided in Utah for over
seven years and is fluent in the languages of English, Portuguese and
Spanish. She loves traveling and is currently majoring in International
Relations to eventually work in diplomacy.
Excelling in both academics with a 3.75 G.P.A. and the sports of gymnastics
and volleyball, Diana has received many distinctions and awards, among
these Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Scholar; Sterling Scholar World
Languages; Academic All-State Volleyball; All American Academic Volleyball;
Region and State 1st Place Volleyball.
A competitor and high achiever, Diana Franca follows in the footsteps of her
predecessors, all excellent role models with their outstanding academic
achievements and other personal accomplishments. Like them, she does
honor to the title of Miss Latina US.
